Holiday Opportunities 2023
Make Sanctuary for Families a part of your end-of-year holiday celebrations! Please help us brighten the holidays for survivors of gender violence and their children.
For more information or to express interest in any of the below opportunities, please contact Emily Lo Bue, Director of Corporate and Volunteer Relations, at email@example.com.
In November, Sanctuary will share over 100 Amazon Wish Lists with individuals and groups who are interested in supporting this special program. Ordering instructions and shipping deadlines will be shared with donors upon confirming their participation.
With your support, Sanctuary will collect over 1,000 gift cards for teens and adults as well as toys, books, and games for babies and children. Individuals and groups will be able to purchase gift cards and gifts ($25-30 each) via a shared Amazon Wish List or by donating new gifts directly to Sanctuary. The deadline to deliver gifts is Friday, December 1. All deliveries must be prearranged. Please consider asking your friends, family and coworkers to participate in this critical holiday effort for survivors of gender based violence.
OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Be a Holiday Helper. Sanctuary needs help sorting and organizing the wonderful donations we receive. We are hosting Holiday Helpers on 12/4, 12/5, 12/6, and 12/12, 12/13, 12/14 at our confidential Lower Manhattan location. On each date, there will be two shifts of up to 10 volunteers from 10:30am-12:30pm and 2:00-4:00pm.
Give/Ask for the Gift of Sanctuary. Unsure what to give for that special someone? Consider making a donation to Sanctuary in their honor. If someone asks you what you want for the holidays this year, ask for a donation to Sanctuary.
Food for the Holidays. Please consider a donation of non-perishable food items and/or a dedicated cash donation to help feed Sanctuary clients. All deliveries must be pre-arranged.
Make Sanctuary a Part of your Holiday Party. Please consider asking your guests (in-person or virtual!) to make a donation to Sanctuary in lieu of the bottle of wine or box of chocolates they would have brought to a gathering.
Incorporate Sanctuary in Your Company’s Year-End Activities. Many corporations and law firms give year-end gifts to their employees. Consider asking your company to designate a gift to Sanctuary for Families, participate in the Adopt-a-Family Program or fulfill Winter Wishes for survivors in lieu of employee gifts this year.
Send Holiday E-Cards to Help the Environment and Benefit Sanctuary. Many corporations, law firms, and individuals send holiday wishes via e-cards. Consider this e-option and make a donation to Sanctuary with the money you save on cards and stamps.
