Her husband’s violence had escalated to the point of brutal beatings and terrifying acts of control.
Desperate to protect her children, Nadia fled to a shelter upstate, but it was full. Staff there placed her and her babies on a bus bound for New York City, where she eventually found Sanctuary for Families.
