Carrie Denning Jackson, 2026 Zero Tolerance Honoree

Every year, at our Zero Tolerance Benefit, Sanctuary for Families honors those who have significantly contributed to the movement to end gender-based violence. This year, we are thrilled to present the 2026 Zero Tolerance Award to Carrie Denning Jackson, Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Jamestown LP.

INTRODUCING CARRIE

Carrie Denning Jackson is Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Jamestown, where she leads efforts to integrate forward-looking strategies around sustainability, health, and innovation across the firm’s global real estate portfolio. Her work focuses on creating places that support human and environmental wellbeing while advancing long-term value.

Prior to joining Jamestown, Carrie served as a Director on the Development team at Sidewalk Labs, Google’s urban innovation company, where she worked at the intersection of technology, cities, and the built environment. Earlier in her career, she held roles at IBM’s Smarter Cities initiative and Google’s urban innovation team, building deep expertise in how design, data, and policy can shape healthier, more resilient communities.

Carrie is also the founder of Place as Medicine, an organization dedicated to elevating understanding of how the environments where people live, work, and learn affect physical, mental, and social health. Across more than fifteen years in the field, she has remained deeply committed to enhancing the environments in which people live, with a particular focus on access to nature, movement, and meaningful social connection.

Carrie has long been a dedicated supporter of Sanctuary for Families. A committed donor for many years, she has also raised funds on Sanctuary’s behalf by participating in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, actively engaging her personal and professional networks and introducing Sanctuary to a new set of donors. She has also volunteered with Sanctuary’s Economic Empowerment Program, helping survivors strengthen their interview skills and refine their resumes. Her involvement reflects both her belief in Sanctuary’s mission and her broader commitment to creating safe, healthy environments in which individuals and families can thrive

Carrie serves on the boards of Governors Island Foundation, The Nature Conservancy–New York Chapter, PlanA Health, and trubel&co, and she advises Georgia Tech’s Master of Science in Urban Analytics program.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. Carrie lives in New York City with her husband and son.
